Montclair State University Parking Lot Resurfacing

Montclair State University is New Jersey’s largest teaching university and the second largest educational institution in the state. Encompassing 200 acres, the University is embarking on major capital construction programs.

In May of 2002, YU & Associates (YU) began the preparation of construction documents for a campus wide resurfacing project. The project involved the resurfacing and restraining of 10 parking lots containing over 2200 parking spaces and the resurfacing and restraining of various campus roadways. The scope of work included performing the visual field assessment of all existing parking lots, developing construction documents for bid purposes, designing parking lot expansions and restraining of lots to maximize parking spaces. YU continued to work on the project throughout construction in the role of Resident Engineer for the University, reviewing payment applications, performing field inspection and quantity take-offs.
