Adlai Stevenson High School

The athletic field of Adlai Stevenson High School located in Bronx, NY was rehabilitated as part of the Take the Field Program, a private public partnership to revitalize the school fields.

YU & Associates, Inc. (YU) performed a subsurface investigation and made recommendations for the foundation. YU provided full-time quality control inspection during construction for satisfactory subgrade preparation and excavation backfilling.

YU evaluated the subsurface material for the presence of contaminants and developed a plan to keep the excavations and soil disposal to a minimum. YU prepared a site specific Health and Safety Plan and monitored air quality during the removal and disposal of contaminated soils.

YU provided an engineering quality control inspection of the field and track area during construction for grade elevations. Achieving the design grades was critical for athletic field performance.
