YU & Associates, Inc. (YU) was retained to perform site feasibility engineering services for the construction of the new school and the demolition of the old school and residential properties undertaken by the New Jersey School Construction Corporation. As part of the Preliminary Assessment, YU reviewed historical information and performed site visits to evaluate potential environmental areas of concern in accordance with N.J.A.C. 7:26E. Based upon the areas of concern identified, YU performed a Site Investigation. Site investigation activities included performance of a geophysical survey to determine potential buried metal debris and underground storage tanks; evaluation of subsurface soil and groundwater conditions through test pits, soil borings and monitoring wells; collection and analyses of sample through laboratory testing; and submission of investigation report and remedial action work plan in accordance with N.J.A.C. 7:26E. A site specific Health and Safety Plan was prepared to protect the onsite personnel.

YU performed an Asbestos, Lead Based Paint and Hazardous Material Survey for the school and residential properties to be demolished. YU developed abatement design and demolition documents. Construction specifications and cost estimates were prepared.
