Baruch College Data Center Upgrade

YU & Associates (YU), serving as an environmental consultant to Burns Engineering (Burns), conducted an asbestos and hazardous materials inspection at Baruch College Library and Technology Center Building to facilitate the Data Center Upgrade project on the 9th floor of the building.

YU performed a limited pre-demolition asbestos containing materials (ACM), lead-based-paint (LBP), PCB and other hazardous materials investigation of architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other systems that will potentially be impacted by the scope of renovation, located on the 8th floor, 9th floor and roof of the building.

The investigation was performed in accordance with USEPA, AHERA, NYS DOH, and NYC DEP regulations. A report was provided summarizing the results of the investigation. Based on report findings, design plans, specifications and cost estimate were developed by YU for abatement work associated with demolition activities.
