Delta Sky Way at LGA

At LaGuardia Airport (LGA), Delta Air Lines’ first new concourse, housing gates 92 through 98, opened to the public in November 2019 as part of a nearly $4 billion terminal investment at the airport. YU, as the lead landside engineer, was responsible for the masterplan of the new roadway systems, utilities, parking needs, geotechnical engineering, and construction support for the new concourse. This concourse is part of a larger $8 billion redevelopment at the airport. YU’s involvement with this redevelopment began in 2015 with a blank piece of paper and in less than five years helped contribute to the opening of the first new concourse. The concourse will serve as a model for the remaining three concourses as part of Delta’s new $3.9 billion terminal at LaGuardia — building on years of investment that Delta has put in at the airport.

October 2019 is the completion date for the concourse housing gates 92 through 98. The two concourses and the headhouse are scheduled for substantial completion and operations by early 2022, with the rest of the program scheduled to finish in 2026.
