New Substation Development at SUNY

YU & Associates (YU) provided subsurface investigation for the proposed New Substation to be constructed at the State University of New York (SUNY) Stony Brook Campus located in the Town of Brookhaven (Hamlet of Stony Brook), Suffolk County, New York. After execution of a field and geotechnical laboratory testing program, YU developed foundation recommendations and design criteria to allow the proper design grounding systems, mat foundations and footings, retaining walls and permanent slopes. In order to develop proper grounding designs, in-situ field soil resistivity testing was performed. Seismic design parameters and recommendations for the reusability of onsite excavated materials were also provided.
