Montclair State University, the second largest public university in the state of New Jersey made history when it opened the first diner on a New Jersey college campus. The 2,775 sf diner was constructed so that the University could expand its food services by offering something unique to its students. YU & Associates, (YU) was retained by the University to perform a Geotechnical Investigation Study, Site Engineering and to obtain the necessary Regulatory Approvals. The one-story prefabricated diner was sited on an existing parking lot. The site engineering included the design of a handicapped accessible parking lot, loading dock, landscaping and lighting. YU prepared construction documents and assisted the owner in the bid process. YU was hired by the owner to perform construction inspection and certify the installation and testing of new utilities.
