Ronald G. Stone Community Gymnasium

The facility is a new 35,680 square foot $14,000,000 gymnasium to replace the existing high school gym and additionally serve as a community facility. The site is surrounded by the Chancellor Avenue School building to the West, Undermanned Field to the North, Goldsmith Avenue to the East and residential buildings to the South.

Site challenges included on site soils with a high fines content, grading difficulties due to a large flat site, and close proximity of adjacent construction.

YU was responsible for coordinating investigations including Phase 1 environmental site assessment, geotechnical investigation, topographic and utility surveys. Working closely with the project architect, YU prepared conceptual site plans for the future gym structure, grading and drainage plans for the gym site and remote parking lot, storm water management, design of new access drive.
