YU & Associates, Inc. (YU) was retained to provide site feasibility and engineering services for the renovation of the existing school. The building is located on Block 38, Lot 1, at the corner of 2nd Street and Monroe Street in Hoboken, Hudson County, New Jersey. The overall project objective is to renovate the existing 66,339 square foot pre-Kindergarten through fourth grade elementary school to better meet the educational requirements of the school district. Since the building is located in the floodplain, unique design and regulatory challenges were posed.
In the feasibility portion of the project YU will provide boundary and topographic survey, environmental assessment, geotechnical investigation and traffic study. Design Development phase services will include site and geotechnical engineering, Stromwater management design, utility design and relocation and environmental services. YU will also assist in obtaining the regulatory permits that are required for construction.
